I purchased this glass jar/demijohn from marketplace. It was in great condition and I had a vision on how to add a POP of colour.
First, I cleaned the jar and then applied two coats of primer, waiting for each coat to dry in between.
Once this was dry, I measured the area where I wanted the Luxe Decoupage Paper to cover and I then cut the paper to match.
To apply the Luxe Decoupage Paper, I applied some PVA glue to the jar and then spritzed the back of the luxe paper before adhering. It was a relatively small area, not like a piece of furniture, but I still recommend working in increments, especially if you are new to decoupage. Use the Aussie Decoupage Blue Tool to smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles. Repeat this process until the Luxe Paper is fully applied.
Next, I created a boundary between the paint work and where I wanted to decoupage. I decided to create a decorative trim using a fast drying resin and a mould. I then used Gorilla Glue to adhere the resin trim to the demijohn. I used masking tape to hold the trim in place. Once the glued had dried, I removed the masking tape.
Finally, I grabbed my paint and brushes and added a coat of the Jade Green to compliment the paper and then dry brushed some Neon pink over the top. To dry brush, I dipped my brush into a little bit of paint and blotted off the excess.
